God in the Flesh: Microcosm, Macrocosm, You

Have you ever considered what the human body means on a spiritual level?
In The Secret Teachings of All Ages, Manly P. Hall describes how the human body was regarded by Greeks, Persians, Egyptians, Hindus, and Taoists as the most profound and universal of all symbols.

As Above, So Below
Because the heavens were too vast for mortals (or even gods) to fully grasp, philosophers and priests turned to the body as the living key to the Divine.
There’s an ancient Hermetic and Egyptian saying: “As above, so below.”
Taoism echoes this wisdom: the unity of Heaven, Earth, and Human—“Tian Ren He Yi”—teaches that your body is a small heaven, a living microcosm of the cosmos. Taoist practitioners circulate qi, harmonizing organs with elements and seasons (heart as sun/fire, kidneys as moon/water), aligning inner rhythms with the Tao itself.
To know the body is to know heaven. To know heaven is to know the body. They mirror each other perfectly.
The Macrocosm: the greater universe. The Microcosm: your inner universe.
The Body as Textbook '
Long before idolatry corrupted temples, priests placed a human figure in the sanctuary. It symbolized Divine Power in all its forms.
Ancient priests used the body as their textbook, decoding the celestial mysteries through its sacred anatomy.
Scripture says: “God made humanity in His own image.” The body reveals God’s glory.
Manly P. Hall writes in The Occult Anatomy of Man:
“These wise ones realized that there was a great deal more involved in religion than the chanting of mantras and the singing of hymns; they realized that the path of salvation could be walked successfully only by those who had practical, scientific knowledge of the occult function of their own bodies.”
Taoist Tantra agrees: God (or Tao) lives in you. Organs and glands mirror celestial bodies. Harmonize your inner universe, and the outer world also aligns.
Using the Body to Find Heaven Now
The practices I’m initiated and trained in guide and restore this harmony by clearing blocks such as stress, resentment, anger, and fatigue, revealing the heaven within.
We are here because we have a body. Without it, we’d be somewhere else. Yet how often do we truly live in it?
Work, screens, and obligations dominate our lives. Minds race from one activity to another; even leisure time is spent on TV, the phone, or a computer.
We notice the body only when it disappoints us. In sickness, fatigue, failure. When do we love it as God’s gift?
I invite you to find some time in your busy life to be with your body.
Honor yourself with sacred time.
A time when you connect with the God/Goddess in you, the microcosm. This is as powerful as studying the universe and the macrocosm.
If you are made in God’s image, then to worship God is also to lovingly honor this body.
I invite you to adore and love your body.
Your body is not an obstacle to your spirituality; it is the living temple through which Spirit is experienced.
